Waves on Google Earth

Postby Underdog » Tue Dec 18, 2007 1:05 pm

A post yesterday sent me looking for this place . It's one of the best waves I've seen on Google Earth.

Anyone else found any ?

yeh there used to be a classic one of a long RHer up here..but they have updated the image now and its flat. i will try and find the pic cos i took a screen grab at the time.

Also you should have a little cyber wander up the coast of namibia..there are loads of left hand points.

anyone lknow where that left hander is in the new TSP gallery?

Google earth has a lot of explaining to do regarding the uncovering of secret spots! Some surfers must be pretty peed...

I haven't sussed out if there's any pattern to how the images are taken/updated - you can see on some stretches of coast they have patched together images from different dates etc... whether this was just due to cloud cover or for more intelligent purposes I don't know :? (i.e you can see where people were on certain days etc..)

I'm off to have a look at Namibia now - I've always like that coast but its a bit sharky for my likings!

At last... a right!
Been scouring loads of places recently and have noticed that the world seems biased towards goofy's.

Found this place. Don't know if it's any good. looks popular though.

Anyone recognise themselves ?

Looks like snaking on the peak at the bottom

found a beast in the carib, but my ge doesnt work on the uni network for some reason. Pakistan has tonnes of points as well. Beast of a swell was hitting portugal when the photos of it were working, some good shots on that coast.

dunno where it is but looks a good reef set up, RH and two LH, bay to paddle out from. Doubt it gets crowded. Could do with some more swell tho.

Late night trawling on the net and found this. Thought that if you had surfed here and know it you make like this shot.

Never been in myself as not really seen it working and the times it might be worth checking I've been elsewhere. Anyway, GE updated their photos as it wasn't like this last time I checked and I thought some locals may appreciate this pic.

I think those who know it will keep schtum and I hope the pic doesn't contain too many clues...
