Was just about to ask about battery life, as I reckon it won't last long in sub zero temps. Also how much footage can you get on a 2 GB sd card? As i am away for 2 weeks I won't have computer access, so may need to stock up!!!

Mine continues to frustrate like th first. It seems to work for 20 second then stops working. Got a couple of vids where it runs for 1 to 3 seconds then turns the record off without any user intervention (I am paddling). Batteries fine and memory card emtpy.

I don't think they can hanlde the cold.

It does say on the box you must use lithium batteries in cold temps, but I think rechargeable Ni-Cads are ok in cold weather too. I think normal batteries don't cope with cold even if they are new - they just don't produce amps at the required rate, even if the meter shows they are new. I tested mine out over the last couple of weeks in sub zero temps and got some pretty good results with lithium battteries. I think I filled a memory card with footage (got a nice section of me getting fresh tracks down Blackcombe Glacier which I will post) before the batteries started cutting out. I had a couple of false starts the previous day when i had the auto shut off set to 60 seconds, not realising it shut down at 60 seconds regardless, not after not being used for 60 seconds as I was expecting. So i had a couple of 60 sec clips of me putting on my gloves and just starting to move before cutting out.

I'd be tempted to get a second card for the trip >my 4gb cost £15 from jessops so I bet you can get them cheaper.
I have a few minutes (maybe five) footage at 377mb. including taking about 10 waves on the head.

I had duracells in in the first place - no good. I don't think it can cope with cards bigger than 2 GB. They don't need to be fast ones though, as it writes slowly, so can be gotten hold of cheaply if you shop around.

I heard that they cant cope with over 2Gb too. I bought a card of play.com for less than a tenner with free postage (an extreme 111 which is probably over kill). Got a full nearly hours footage of me on the bike the other day with re-chargables. Agree lithium worked well in water in the cold - any others just give up

Similar looking (colder) wave as your 2nd pic smelly although I clearly don't go as hard into my turns as you do and like to flap my arms as I go.

Pic taken from the video.

Still loving the camera it is quite interesting to look at your technique, it died early again but only cos I didn't sort my shit out and could'nt find any lithiums in the service station at 5am.

Might be worth looking if it's worth getting some NiMH rechargeable batteries and a small charger (either wallplug with cigarette lighter adaptor or USB) if you are going to use the camera regularly, might be a bit cheaper than using loads of Lithium batteries, and they are good in cold temps as well.

They dont support cards bigger than 2gb... You'll get an image on a 4gb card but weird sounds and other strange things. So best stick to the instructions. 2gb cards as cheap as these days. Battery wise lithiums are the only way to go. Don't complain if it doesn't work otherwise. And be super careful making sure the o-ring is clean and the seal good, I've seen 2 drowned so far. When they work they are awesome though.
