Zac - I bought a EOS 3 and a 50mm f/1.8 which is a really good cheap combo, cost £180 for both. The EOS 3 controls are very similar to 1 series digital so it was really easy getting used to it.
I've done a bit of E6 and C41 developing but like you said its a bit of a pain in the ass so now I just stick to B+W.
35mm is really fiddly compared to MF or sheet film but you get used to it. I havent got my darkroom anymore so just load the film up in a changing bag which takes a couple mins.
Yeah photography can be stupidly expensive if it gets out of control specially digital, its too easy to look at some peoples work and want to try it but you nearly always need to buy an extra lens or lights or somethin. I've 'kinda' got that under control these days. :lol:

eric - yeah PP has gone under mate. I'm suprised it lasted so long to be honest, tough times for any magazine to survive.

eric - nah i havent heard from them, i messaged tony and he said he will email them but i havent heard anything but i might get on to the person that won it and see if he wants to give me my wetsuit as i will only sell it so size aint really a problem.

Mealy - i recently bought the 50 1.8 and have been really pleased with it and also got a 1d and really liking the controls so might look at an eos 3 as only have like a eos 600 atm which is ok but not wonderful as fopr using a changing bag i have tried that before at college on a test roll took me about half an hour then i got pissed off and took it out and fogged it but we got like blacked out rooms to do it in and tht is much easier. i really want a telephoto as only got a 70-200 f4 atm and i need a bit more reach and i also want the 85 1.8 and the 28 1.8 not much to ask really :lol:

Nice pics Zac, shame you just missed the fella's hand in the second one.

Here's a picture I took and cropped/mucked about with; a rarely seen beast somewhere on the coast of the UK. If you know where please keep hush.

And one I took from the early Nov swells down SW. You know where.

Word. hard to fault that second one. Light and exposure are perfect and composition is great. If anthing it could maybe do with a slight crop off the bottom, but probably not.

That second shot is cracking Poo - looks like an awesome day. I'm by no means a photog but I've got into the habit of recording line-ups with a few snaps usually after a session and got some real fun small (and uncrowded) waves on a dawnie at the local beachie earlier this week when the winds had backed off. Thought the shot came out quite well considering it's a camera phone;

haha... Thought you might. Getting increasingly difficult to get a quiet one in down there but when the swell lines up off the groyne right it can be good.

I was missing the summer looking at nice shots of Portugal the other day but your pic has put that into perspective. At least we have a few more months till things get zoo-like!

I'm loving both your shots mealy, especially the first one. Exposure is perfect - 10 shades of grey Ansel Adams would be proud.

Love this shot. Perfect.

Nice moody shots of Byron there too Drifter. Not your typical Pass shot for sure. I like this one of yours, makes me cry and hard at the same time. :?

I shot a couple rolls last week at my home break, some Velvia and Provia, bit crappy scans but it will do for now.
Dont know if others will like this sort of thing but I'm into it at the moment.
