fcs m5 as longboard side fins?

Any discussion on shaping, designing, repairing and riding surfcraft of any type or shape. Also a good place to ask the 'what board should I buy?' question.

fcs m5 as longboard side fins?

I need to get some side bites for my longboard but I have a spare set of m5 sized fins.... Would those side fins work or are they too big? I dont fancy shelling out 40 quid for some proper ones unless I have to

If you are riding a 2+1 set up you can get away with M5s as sides if your center ain't too big, otherwise it'll get kinda hard to turn it! I used to run a full set of M5's with a center fin adapter when I felt like being "progressive". The adapters are pretty cheap, few quid of MSW store and gives you another set of choices for different conditions and how the board feels.

Yeah it makes sense that bigger side fins would make it harder to turn. I'll bust open the piggy bank and get some proper side bites :)

Using the centre fin adaptor might make the board a little funky in the handling department for me
