lovebird lust

Any discussion on shaping, designing, repairing and riding surfcraft of any type or shape. Also a good place to ask the 'what board should I buy?' question.

lovebird lust

Just wondering if any of you guys ride or have ridden a bing lovebird? Thinking of selling my empire vulcan and mystery machine and replacing it with a lovebird, but will the bing noseride as nice as my vulcan and carve as well as me mystery machine. Can the lovebird do both? both empires are superb boards but i would like to scale down from 2 to 1. cheers

I had a 9' Bird. It was an allrounder, I wouldn't say it was the best noserider, the elevator/Levitator are better noseriders. I actually found it surfed better in bigger surf, but for me if it was over chest high I ride a shortboard.

I've ridden a 9'4 a few times. Noserider ok in small waves but too foiled and too much nose kick to be a great small wave board. Definitely more of a bigger wave log. Make a great travel log. If you ride short boards in anything over chest high its too much of a compromise

I have a 9ft bird and love it! Noserides well in beach breaks and loose as a goose! I normally ride big trad logs and got this for bigger days. What's surprising is how well it paddles too. This board is what I expected from the tak in the pink, which wasn't for me. I would go bigger than mine if you want to cover all bases. Great board that takes a few surfs to get used too. Oh and by the way ditch the lovebird fin and stick in a detemple md3 9".

There is no such thing unfort, everything is a compromise. It's one of the best all rounders I've ridden as is the bing pintail lightweight.

Got a mode on order from Steve at empire - he's tweaked the template for me as I didn't want it for noseriding so I'm not sure if you'll be interested in a ride report but I'll probably post one up anyway when I take delivery
