Singlefinenstien my Rusty Piranha - good or bad idea?

Any discussion on shaping, designing, repairing and riding surfcraft of any type or shape. Also a good place to ask the 'what board should I buy?' question.

Singlefinenstien my Rusty Piranha - good or bad idea?

Postby Poo Stance » Thu Jul 04, 2013 1:07 pm

I'm thinking of getting a fin box installed on my Piranha so i can ride it as a singlefin.

Anyone have know if this is a good idea or not? Anyone recommend anyone who could do a decent job on this? Gonna be around Croyde and Connie this weekend.

Any and all comments/insults welcome.

Ta :)

You may find there isn't enough thickness in the tail to fit a box in bud.
You need around an inch and a quarter thickness in the tail at the back of the box.

I find most single fin specific boards have a lower tail rocker than standard shortboards.

You may find it quite loose if you convert it to a single.
