Single Fin for a 2+1 Setup??

Any discussion on shaping, designing, repairing and riding surfcraft of any type or shape. Also a good place to ask the 'what board should I buy?' question.

Single Fin for a 2+1 Setup??

Postby still learning » Mon Aug 12, 2013 4:28 pm

Picking up a custom 6'8" 2+1 tomorrow and haven't got a clue about what fin to put in.

I have got the board as a small - medium wave board and want to be able to throw it around a bit to develop my turns so pretty sure I would be looking at a 6" or 7" fin???

Anybody out there got any suggestion's?? or have a similar set up and can point me in the right direction???

Cheers

I used to ride this http://community.magicseaweed.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=20077&p=291567&hilit=Mojito#p291567 with a 7.5in tks flex and fcs sides, went great. I have ridden my 6'8 Bonzer with just the 7.0 True Ames single fin in when I forgot/lost my fcs key, that went fine too but the fin is really designed to be ridden with Bonzer sides in.

What kind of shape is the 2+1, you could just get a thruster convertor for the center box and stick FCS M5s in it if you are inclined that way. There's so much variety but the shape of the board will narrow it down a bit!
