First time solo surf trip

I am planning a surf trip down to the Biarritz area at the end of August. No one else can get the time off work so I figured I'd just go by myself.

I'm a beginner/intermediate level surfer from land locked Guildford so can't get to the beach as much as I would like.

Anyone got any advice for a first time solo tripper, know any where good to stay in Biarritz etc, or does anyone want to come along?

Hi, I've seen loads of people who have had trouble getting accommodation in this area. I looked at staying in Biarritz myself but found it far too expensive. I did however manage to find a really cool place, which is very affordable, just outside Hossegor which is about 30 mins north of Biarritz. It's a great place to be if you like surfing. There is a surf hostel in Anglet and another in Biarritz. That would be good a place to meet other surfers of a similar standard.

Dude that coast of France is SICK! I love that area. There some monster rollers which will totally make your trip -- solo or not. Plus there are a bunch of cute beach bunnies to keep you busy too. Thanks for the links guys, much appreciated. I've decided that I'm going to push the trip to outside the school holidays now. Everything should be a bit cheaper - The return flight on Sleezy jet was nearly 4 times as much as the outbound! In fairness its the last weekend of the holidays. But the information will still be heaps useful!

I'm going to check out a couple of breaks around the south Pembrokeshire coast and camp for a couple of days instead. Much cheaper!! From what I read Freshwater West is one of the better ones, anyone been there?
