"Boardbag" in hardshell?

Postby Renna » Mon Feb 25, 2013 10:58 am

Is there such a thing? If samsonite made a travelbag in hardshell it would be impossible to ding the boards right? And the airlines would probably think you were carrying a music instrument or an assault rifle so you wouldn't be charged with board fee's ? The material is hard and light so i can't really see any disadvantages with it..

I'm positive there used to be such a thing a few years ago....but it was made from plastic I think and weighed a ton!

Yeah just google HARDCASE SURFBOARD, one is from boardroomtech.com, there used to be an advert in Surfer mag for years
from santa monica hardcase travel cases, as above not sure about weight, personally i have cut out 2 polystyrene plan shapes and
just put one each side of board, about 6-8mm thick, been ok even at LHR, where one board bag had wheel tracks across it.
