decent campsites near the sea uk

Ok I'm feeling generous the following a free camp spots in Northumberland where you can
Park a van or pitch a tent right nr the beach

Cresswell middle and south car park. Free parking behind dunes and poss Quiet camping in the dunes. Walk to get away from established paths. Great reefs at south end. Beach bank dependant.

South side alnmouth- again campervan or tent. Super remote

Embleton car park south end be discreet- could camp in dunes

Football hole no van access but great camp spot. You won't see any other surfer

I've recently stayed at trefalen farm campsite in Pembrokeshire - Looks right out over broad haven beach and is only 20min drive to Freshwater West (If the army aren't shooting stuff on the artillery range). Its only £5 a night. One downside is that there are no showers but there is a cold water one in the National Trust car park close by.

Best we have found for Northumberland is http://www.beachcomber-campsite.co.uk/ good for Northerly crags too. Big beach that may or may not get swell, but close to Bamburgh. No pub in walking distance though, but a lot cheaper than any of the other campsites in the area.

That beach is pretty poor, sandbanks are virtually non-existent! Definitely a good campsite though, my aunty stays there for a night or two when she comes to visit and loves it!

Sadly, this campsite has now closed

I suspect the camping area has now become an area for running horses from the stables. Guess the horsey riding set brought in more money than the campers.
