So I've just come back off a cruise with Royal Caribbean http://www.cruise.co.uk/cruise-lines/royal-caribbean-cruises/ and on board I went on the FlowRider. It was so good and I really want to take up surfing, but I dont know anywhere I can go.
I live in Birmingham (England) can someone please tell me the best places to go surfing?

You're not going to find anywhere to surf in Birmingham, your best bets are to head south down to Devon. You then have the choice of North Devon/South Devon or Cornwall, i'd suggest taking a few lessons if you are just starting out just to be safe and learn the basics.

not 100% sure about the geography in Englandshire but I reckon the Severn Bore is your nearest wave

There is a place in Castleford an another in bedford which have flowriders like the one on the ships. www.flowhouse.co.uk

I'd say getting some lessons at a gentle beach in south wales or North Devon would be your best bet.
I can definitely recommend http://www.walkingonwaves.co.uk/ who even managed to get my 55 year old overweight mum surfing! They're based around saunton which would be a good place to start, and include all the wetsuits/boards etc.

Yeh, The bore is the nearest, but as it only breaks once a year, it's always rammed, always tiny, and it stinks there doesn't seem to be much point
Other than that, Gower Peninsula, Porthcawl, North Devon. Any of those will do you.
Mid Wales is nearer as the crow flies but is less consistent and it takes longer to get there.

Oddly enough I've never actually followed a crow's flight. I suspect it would only lead a straight path to the nearest dead squirrel anyway.
