Surfing in Brazil in July - any tips?

Hey guys,

after spending almost 9 moth of studying i will finally be free again in July - yes!

To get back to myself I am planning to spend at least one month of surfing only. As I will do some work in August in Brazil I thought it might be the best idea to already go there for the surf trip as well, getting more comfortable with the language.

So now my question is where you would recommend me to go in July. Anywhere in Brazil would be fine.
In case you know a sweet lodge/hostel that would accommodate me I would love to hear your suggestions. Im looking for a nice place to find some peace of mind, catch some waves and do some writing.

Take a look at Itacare in Bahia. Sun and warm weather and plenty of waves and peace and quiet. Forget Rio Grande do Sul unless you want cold weather and nobody around.
