Easy waves April/ May 2013

Postby cwmogwr » Mon Mar 04, 2013 12:18 pm

Hi Folks,

I'll try not too waffle too much... looking for short trip, maybe 4 days in April/ May.

we're pretty much looking for an easy wave, good for learning, not too steep take off or many hazards.

Thinking maybe south france? Anyone got any advice please?

Many thanks

Gareth

Its not an easy Q to answer. April/May isnt really swell season in Europe. And its so far in the future no one here can predict if there will be swell let alone how big a swell. S France is as good a bet as any, just travel around a bit to find the wave you like. And get up early before the wind and crowds. If you were going for longer then you'd have more chance of scoring. Personally i would wait until the last minute to decide. See where the swell is and go from there. Could be Ireland or UK is a better call depending. gl.

Hi,

Gareth (with a name like this you should be chasing 100ft waves)

ever think of Portugal??

There's waves suitable for everybody, the days are bigger and the sun starts to warm up. There are surf schools all along the coast, the vibe goes from easygoing and mellow to feral party all night. And if you need transportation there's always http://portugalbyvan.wordpress.com to help you.

Cheers,

Marco.
