Longboard advice

Postby RichC » Fri Sep 10, 2010 7:23 pm

I've been riding a 7' 6" Bilbo minimal for the last year or two whenever theres waves at Brighton, Shoreham or the Witts. I'm really tempted by a longboard but never tried one. I'd like to catch more of the weaker surf we get around here and was wondering if a longboard would make a significant difference to my wave count compared to my minimal? (I get 5 or 6 decent waves per session in waist high surf like we've had for the last 3 or 4 months). Any advice would be much appreciated.
thanks

It will do, but also look at improving your paddling technique, and positioning in the line up to get more waves then 5/6 a session. Good luck!

I didn't win the longboard on ebay in the end so stuck with my minimal, for the last couple of months I've been concentrating on just that and today was my biggest wave haul yet. Thanks for the advice I'm pleased I dug deeper and improved my technique rather than just hoping some new kit would do the job for me.
Cheers
