first board bottom shape?

I'm looking to get my first board! the starting choice is fairly easy it will be a mini-mal 7'6" - 8" but looking at whats on offer there seams to be a large range of bottom shapes! from a single to double concave ,multi concave, flat and combinations of them! can anyone tell me the practical differences and pro's and cons when using them?

To be absolutely honest if you're looking at boards that long and your surfing in the UK then I wouldn't stress about the shape of the bottom too much. Make sure it's something that's the right kind of length and volume for you. Avoid 'pop outs', they're not the best first boards in my opinion.

First bottom shape should always be composed of two curvy flesh shapes with a hole in the middle - infallible!

Bottom contours mean nothing when you are a novice, just make sure it is red......

Make sure you get channels, the more the better. The ones with shadow tinting are fucking awesome.
