Rip Curl Sizes - have they changed?

Postby smoothglide » Fri Mar 15, 2013 5:53 pm

The last four wetties I've had have all been ripcurl MT's, just ordered a new one and its like a bin bag! Not sure what the craic is but i'm at least the same size as i've always been.

Anyone else found this?

I hope not.

I have never had a problem with Rip Curl suits.

By contrast My new O'neill rg8 is leaking like f**k, would not buy another, ever....... fact.

All the rest have been great, but the difference in size in this one is ridiculous! Might have been a dud?

Similar thing happened to me Jon, bought a MT Xcel on-line from a well known shop up coast in a sale.
Got the suit and it was fucking huge: more like an XLT. It was marked MT though.
Had a few Xcels and I know how they fit.
I sent it back and the shop were sound, full refund, they agreed it was massive and incorrectly marked.
Send it back mate

I spoke in haste there Gav. It's an OK suit but has developed some leakage, small pin holes that I have touched with some product. I was surprised how they have appeared. You will not find anyone more careful with a suit with regards to putting it on, getting it off and after surf care. I think it is the fault of the lining they have used in this case.

Until buying this suit I had used Rip Curls exclusively, apart from a one off Neil Pryde over the shoulder velcro jobby which literally did fall apart in no time.

Sizing is also an issue. The large in a Rip Curl has always been spot-on and this O'neill is a tad snug/tight.

However the new look Phil, who has lost half a stone in three weeks will probably see a difference in the O'neill next time in the water...............PM me for dieting tips and secrets........
