Surfing bikini???

Postby kitesurfarisxm » Mon Jun 03, 2013 3:53 pm

This is the one post I would never have gambled on writting as I've always hated with passion special "girls" topic when it came to riding sports, however, well, here I am!
I've been surfing for half a dozen years now, always convinced girls surfing in bikinis were doing so solely for the photo shoot (I just couldn't be convinced this was anyhow comfortable!).
I've now reached a level where I've discovered how brilliant surfing in bikini actually is (and I do love it! I assume it feels the same way for guys to surf in boardshorts: there is a feeling of freedom that is simply awesome).
Having said that, I still find some real technical downsides, especially when duck diving or when getting some serious wipe out. Plus I'm not surfing in bikini for the guy paddling behind me to enjoy the landscape, me wondering every two seconds if everything is still in place (...).
I wish someone could recommend an intelligent bikini brand having properly engineered their bathing suits so that they stay where they're meant to stay, even when been in a live washing machine.
Having done researches online on the topic, I did find a few surfing dedicated bikini brands, however most of them are US based, and none of them supplies Europe.
Does anyone know of a good bikini brand that can be bought online or that can be shipped to Europe?
I'd like some other chicks opinion on the topic (who have personally tried some of those specialised brands), so they can recommend me efficient products (as well as warn me about rip off that pretend yet don't deliver).
Thanks in advance!
Em

just have a look at some of the more shorts styled bottom halves and the more sports bra oriented top halves. Any decent swim company does stuff like that.

I love to surf in a bikini too but I have to keep it under my 5/4/3 hooded wetsuit....

Randomly enough I read about this in a copy of SurfGirl (Not sure I should actually admit that!).

http://www.oneill.com/superkini/

Get a couple of pairs of hipster type shorts too, then you're only worrying about the top half!

(If anyone is wondering why I know so much about surfing in a bikini, it's because I had a very enlightening conversation with a lovely Swedish girl in El Salvador once, over a couple of Cuba Libres. Honestly).

I had a conversation on this long time ago with female friends, and apparently sports bras and men's boxers type bottoms aren't "cute" but "ugly"... They care how they look WAY A LOT more than us unfashionable men in full rubber...

Funny how guys quickly replied to the thread...

At first I was just gonna ignore the comment but then couldn't resist: Philshoz, do guys really call each other "dude", "bro", "mate"?
:p

Oh, did you notice too?
:-D
And I do have to add: this thread is NOT about fashion (I'm NOT metrosexual (I believe this is a guy's attribute  )) it's really about keeping some parts of my anatomy for the exclusive enjoyment of my other half!

Thanks for the link, didn't know those.
-gee, 100 bucks for two little pieces of clothes???? does the same to me with lingerie, it's like the less fabric there is, the more expensive it gets...-
I also found this brand that seems real nice (and I did read some positive feedbacks about them) http://calaveraswimwear.com/ -yet they're just as pricey as Oneill's ones- and seems like "Grindergirl Surfwear" are specialised in "reliable" bikinis too, unluckily can't find anything else than their facebook page...
Thanks all for your input, any addition is welcome (as I'm sure this post will eventually be helpful to other CHICKS ending up half naked at the line up (and not necessarely enjoying it as much as you, GUYS.... ;) ))
Note: I will make sure to post a feedback on here once I've made up my mind and tried the bugger (which will come down to what's available in Europe and what's do-able for my wallet, more than likely)

100 Bucks is no different to a pair of guys boardies, super stretch this, water repellent that, it's all a bit overrated I reckon....

You know, instead of going to all this trouble, and trying to find a fitting bikini that stays on, why not just move somewhere cold, so you have to cover yourself in neoprene all year around?! Far simpler!
