Thread dredge alert!
Ok I decided to rethink wetsuit strategy & am trying the budget option - 2 cheap wetsuits lasting 2 years each rather than one expensive lasting 4 years (yes I know thats not why they are costly but thats what my head tells me should be happening).
So I bought a Gul Response FX (the black one) for £130, its a back zip - could have got it cheaper elsewhere though.
I tried on a budget C-skins and O'Neil but the Gul fitted much better and felt more like a proper wetsuit. Looks well made.
Tested today for 2.5 hours without getting cold - was warm weather and no wind though. Felt slightly chill along the spine/zip for some reason. Didn't notice any flex problems and in all honesty I'm not that keen on the super stretchy neoprene. Fits better than my previous suit, not that that means anything except I chose a better fitting suit. Who knows the durability but it seems well made. If it goes 2 years without falling apart I could be a convert.
