Advice needed - Chris Jones board value - RAF wave riders

Hey all

I'm looking to sell on my Chris Jones board. I bought this from a colleague last year who has since quit surfing due to injury and taken up sky diving instead! The board is in pretty good condition, it's had one repair which was done by Chris Jones himself and has a few little dinks which have been sorted out with solarez and sanded to a nice finish. There isn't any water damage to speak of.

Now comes the interesting bit. I have been told that this board was built by Chris as a set of three for the RAF wave riders. One of the boards has been smashed and burnt when the chap died and the other is now missing, meaning this is the only one known to still in existence.

The board is great for anything from 3ft to over head and is FAST, it's a strange shape, like a gun-minimal with not too much of a rocker. It's a three fin glassed fin set up, all still solid. I was also told it was from around 1989 so not sure how that fits in with board shape advancements.

I am not the most knowledgable on surfboards all I know is it's a great board which is fun and potentially something someone would like to have more than me. Plus our boiler has just bust so a bit of cash would be a bonus! It;s jsut a frsh wax job on it too so got some good humps.

Can anyone shed any light on this? I'll try get in touch wth Chris in the next day or two just to see if he has any more info on the RAF connection.

Cheers

Hey man. Going good. Physio says I'm weeks ahead of where I should be at 9 weeks post surgery. Working on balance and ankle strength/flexibility at the moment and keeping on everything surf related I can do at the gym/pool. Hoping to at least have a paddle out just before Xmas, gives me something to aim at. Shame I won't be fixed sooner, some serious swell coming this weekend!

Nice one - keep doing the physio and you'll be right as rain - don't jump in Ball Deep (not the wave) too early .....
