Was out at cgate with Splinter Weds avo, waves looked head'ish on the sets and fun, by the time I'd got in it had started to creep OH and I just felt like I had no chance of getting into them on the 5'2 Simmons I was on, it paddles well generally but in the bigger/thicker faster moving winter stuff I almost feel like I'm in quick sand at times, not sure if it's a psychological thing or an equipment thing to be honest as I've had my 6'3 shortboard out in winter juice and although that felt more comfortable on the occasional steeper drops I managed to get into I missed way more waves than I caught

. After a chinwag with Splinter I'm kind of thinking a 6'8-6'10 eggy type shape with fairly foiled rails might make me feel a bit more comfortable in the bigger winter stuff and be useful on the smaller days too..... Probably a conversation for the shaping section!
Anywho, a few pics on my blog of Weds if you're interested
http://dragonhilldiaries.tumblr.com/ - hoping a rideable wave presents itself in the morning so I can snag a quick couple before heading back the S Coast and watching Harry Redknapp get beat by the Saints at St Marys tomorrow afternoon
