Equipment Insurance

Postby insideout » Tue Dec 05, 2017 7:12 pm

Not sure if this has been covered - I need a good equipment policy to cover my surf/kitesurf kit from theft/loss/damage etc.

A suggestion was made to use house insurance but I am not a home owner.

I’ve looked at a few companies on Google and I’m curious to see if anyone on here might have a recommendation?

Thanks!

Don't need to be a home owner. Contents insurance is applicable if you're renting too, as it covers your contents. NFU used to be pretty good at covering sports equipment as part of a contents policy.

Hi Leven,

I don’t rent either, 7/8 months I’m working on a boat and 4/5 months travelling between rotations. Leave my kit in my van unattended a lot in some questionable areas around Europe.

If that's the scenario then I can't see an insurer covering items that are that high risk. Save for replacements and make sure they are as secure as possible.
