My wife thought it would be a good idea to volunteer for this during our holiday in Les Landes. "The girls would love to see daddy running around with the cow" she said.

So this https://youtu.be/wRSXqEOU_hA

ended up in this

That's put an end to my autumn trip to Ireland in October.
Hopefully I'll be OK to claim my golden ticket to Kelly's wave pool in November though!

I think the water in Kelly's pool will heal all injuries anyway...

An ossified xyphoid process. Yup that's the term. No more surfing with a thin rashie for me.

Big rubber band and an A4 sheet of exercises ................. fucking state of the NHS  :-)

Interesting and not to shit you up mate but the rotator cuff problems I have had for the last 5 years have all miraculously gone away since getting the offending disc removed and an implant put in.... Cannot believe how much my shoulders have all settled down now, I was 5 weeks post op yesterday, am pretty much off pain relief and am feeling stronger each day. Still not allowed to do any impact stuff as bone hasn't fused with implant yet but when it does it will be super strong and should last the rest of my days :)

Physio regime is pretty full on atm tho, just shoulder/rotator exercises about 4 times a day! Back on the pilates ball and balance board too for core strength, dunno where I will find the time once I am back to work!

Hey Roberdy. How's your back these days? Just interested to see if your op fixed it totally or if you still get a few problems? My own disc and back saga is having a flare up again and making me think a bit more about my options !

Bad shoulder for couple of weeks. Swell on the way but still useless. Its that situation where you have to move the arm with the one that works to do stuff with it. No idea how I did it but the 3 surfs I had after surely finished it off for good. Oh the bliss of pure health - tbh I've been pretty good for a while but this is dragging on.

Go see a decent physio. Bet it's a rotor cuff injury causes by over developed back muscles (common amongst climbers and surfers). With a theraband, some hand weights and some self discipline you can develop antagonistic muscles and stabilisers and hopefully be back in the game.

(or it could be fucked)

They will refer you to Physio - you wait 12 weeks then they give you a purple elastic band and an exercise sheet - NEXT.

Sorry to urinate in your cornflakes Shaun, but mine took nearly 2 years to stabilise and I still need to watch it very carefully.

 Ah shit, not 2 weeks then? Physio booked in 6 weeks then got a trip I want to be able to surf on. Starting some exercise when the shoulder settles down a bit.
