What do you get when Slayer meet NoFX at a party at Captain Beefheart's house?

Here's a couple from the masters of weird, psuedo-queer deathpunk, Turbonegro.

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=UJKARuenzkQ and http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=RN2V6S1Fhks

Definitely one of the most unique bands in the last ten years :?

Saw these guys play at a Tattoo convention... very entertaining to say the least! There was a full on (fat) lezza romp on stage at one point... it was really gross!

The most underrated bass player has to be Stuart Morrow from the original New Model Army line up the albums Vengeance and No rest for the wicked are classics-bit depressing for some though.

haha the last few posts have been sic. Wha a fuckin show on Jools Holland man! Turbonegro got some beans but i cant take them seriously!!! you ever heard any De Facto, Archy? The band that Mars Volta evolved from after ATDI break up....

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Q43hsCIBSnQ

I like how Frusciante is like a permanent studio member of the Mars Volta now haha. Found out something cool, on Bedlam, apparently on quite a few songs, in the right speaker you have Omar playing a solo, and in the left you have John playing the same thing....its like, WHAT THE FUCK, to your ears.

Tool: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3TVeRbugcys&feature=related

probably my favorite drummer, next to Jimmy Chamberlain....oh and T. Pridgen from Volta....fuck. And Jon Theodore the old MV drummer....who has just released an EP with Zach De La Rocha!

Mirky-

No! Never heard of them, but I'm definitely gonna investigate further... cheers for that! :thumbright:

Know what you mean about Turbonegro! You can't take them seriously and they definitely have some strange lyrics/stageshow things going on, but I think that's why I dig them so much... freaks :P

They seem to be able to simultaneously confuse and rub people up the wrong way, which I deeply admire...

These guys do a good job of doing the same thing:

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=WSaSgcnEeak

Axl Rose once called them the 'Pigeons of Shit Metal'! What an accolade!

One of my all-time favourite punk rock bands are the Didjits with Rick Sims... unbelievable that they remained in such obscurity, although Sims' involvement with the Supersuckers is recognised is a bit more. Here's the Didjits:

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pTh8sWZX8xc

Buy 'Hey Judester', it's good.

Another band that don't take themselves too seriously are Snuff. Jimo-another one for you mate!! (Not the best sound, but I fucking love this!)

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-FuH6eGo0e0

Their first album, 'Snuffsaidbutgorblimeyguvstonemeifhedidntthrowawobblerchachachachachachachachachacha-
chayouregoinghomeinacosmicambience' is just brilliant. :P

I like this thread-it's made me listen to loads of old stuff and introduced me to some new stuff too (inc. Mastodon, believe it or not! )
