Found this messageboard again after going on the Facebook page to ask where it was? It is almost impossible to find now, especially anyone new coming on here, they probably won't even see it! :?

Phil, there's a facebook page you can post bugs and incidents in here http://www.facebook.com/groups/468659956479572/

Not much we can do from the forum, I think the facebook page is the central spot for gathering these things and working on them.

^^ Yeah, its the go-to site for people here too for swell. Everybody uses a different wind model though that takes into account local effects, being so mountainous here the GFS/whatever MSW uses wrongly predicts onshores that never appear, you need much finer local resolution to get the winds right.

But for swell its the best, and other people agree. I remember using sites like windguru, does anybody still use that? The swell info on MSW with spectral forecast etc. has come a long way.

I used to have the windguru sidebar gadget but when I re-did my computer I forgot to put it back on - never missed it.

Kinda agree but Facebook provides a really functional way to open beta testing to your computer savvy user base in a restricted and targeted way, allows collaborative analysis of new functionality and a very visible timelined feedback method. Also it's free, empowers the user base and generates greater ownership of the final solution thereby building brand strength and loyalty, what more could you want?

Now the site is into full production the FB page might not be as effective but please do go and post there, the site can only improve with feedback from the customer and that's you guys (some of you!!).

BTW these are not the words or opinions of MSW, just of someone who has come from a day long seminar on our companies Technology Growth Platform position and plans for the future!!

Lostboy I suspect not, I think the new has superceded the old. I have the MSW app for my iPhone, well easier than the main site to use.

I think it looks pretty good, not that there was anything wrong with the old one.

Could do without the advert "every" time i replay the webcam though.

Gave my 'constructive' feedback on the new layout on the FB page....most fine but the new forecast layout day by day and hour by hour is not good - so much info and your eyes don't know where to look - clutter gone mad. Get back to the original chart - simple to read.

Resistance to change can be a force for good. It allows for new ideas, concepts etc to be thought through properly.

The amount of shit in my day job that i have to sort out and fix as a result of rash decision making does my nut in!

Anyways, the new forecast layout is shite. Fact.

I sent an official moaning email through to MSW quite some time ago - got a standard response back saying how it takes time to get used to new things, give it a chance, you'll come to like it etc and plus you can always use the old layout. Well, i've given it a chance - it still sucks. AND i can no longer use the old layout. AAAAAAAARRRRgh!!!!

I can feel a Michael Douglas Falling Down moment coming on... :D :D

Mine has now changed irreversably and i must concur it's pretty awful. Tells you loads you don't need to know, and makes what you do need to know harder to find.

Has anyone ever done any market research for MSW? It'd be interesting to know who uses what on here.

I for one rarely look at their surf forecasts anymore. An occasional glance to see if they confer with windguru and xcweather and how they all compare to what I see on the charts, other than that I used to browse the photo's and vids occasionally. And sometimes check the tide if it's not a funny tide spot (Kbay).

Regards photos, as has been mentioned, I can't filter by just 'England' now. Only by 'UK & Ireland'. I don't want to have to look at all the pics from Wales and Scotland when I want to see peoples pics/vids of the waves that just hit England.

I looked at the vids the other day. Clicked 'browse latest videos'. The page opens but then none of the links seem to work, so I can only see the 1st page and can't click 'next' or 'page4' etc.

---> just checked that again and seems to be working. But you try navigating to this page... http://magicseaweed.com/video/browseVideo.php without that link. I had to click click click through from here http://magicseaweed.com/UK-Ireland-Surf-Forecast/1/

Why does the drop down tab up the top only link to 'vid of the day' & 'upload a vid'?

I'd be nice to know the reasoning behind the changes. Or has that been covered above and I'm too lazy to read it?
