In the water again...

Kelly's heat next, and he's going to be riding a board a foot shorter than most of the other guys...

I've been a bit surprised that they've been calling it 8-10' and then 6-8' today. Not seeing it myself. If those are proper wave face sizes then ok but there's the old bs about halving it when your talking Hawaaiin and they don't seem to be doing that now. I texted my mate the other day to say check out the comp as they're calling it 8-10' when it was no bigger than a couple of point sessions we'd had recently which us old farts would have said 4' or oh. Whether its to big up the comp or north shore in recessionary times I don't know. Don't frigging matter anyway I guess but seems we do ourselves a disservice in Europe imho, we don't do bad. When it comes to the north shore tho' when its macking its macking.

Waves in the final looked really fun and actually pretty user-friendly for Sunset.

Melling did himself proud 8)

I always enjoy that contest, melling was ripping. saw alejo Muniz do some great surfing too.

THink i'd like to surf there oneday - in my warped mind it kind of reminds me of Bantham when thats big and three quarters tide.
