You are going to get twenty plus opinions bromley, all different.

My current fave, one board does it all is a 6' 3" 7S Cog as a quad. I have used this exclusively for nearly five months, not wanting or needing to use a longboard or step-up board at all. Very very happy with it and my other boards are sulking. I know the purist may scoff at the mention of a 7S but it has been a lot of fun for me personally......... :P

I would also be tempted to say a Jim Banks Mk IV fish which I lust for but don't yet own....... :-)

My Glide "One to rule them all", or a 6'10 2+1 egg, either really :)

Yep anything with a flat rocker and wide tail....a fish. Yep you can ride them in the big stuff. ...just get one with thinned out rails.

Double ditto. I also have a B&W speed dialler and it is pretty much my go-to board in all conditions and nearby breaks, out of my four boards it always goes in the car with one of the others. I could do with going down a couple inches now though I reckon

Dunno if this is what you are looking for, but the pretty obvious choice is a standard shortboard. Not many places in the UK you can't ride a normal shortboard 95%+ of the time..

three fins to rule them all, three fins to surf best,
three fins to beat them all and the past to bind them.

a.k.a standard thruster with relaxed rocker

In the For sale section someone is selling "the ultimate board!" ......obviously that'll be it then!
