Surf lifesaving boards

I don't know about the uk but in Ireland I couldn't find a rescue board second-hand for training and just generally playing around on and new they're all close to a grand, is the the case everywhere?

Their all pretty expensive everywhere. I've seen a few on ebay for about £400, they don't come up very often though.
Swell make one thats cheaper than the rest, about £300. Its basically a normal swell board with a bit more volume and handles
