My last 2-3 surfs have been hoodless but the air has gone baltic last couple days. By the end of the month it'll probably be roasting..... :-)

It's been grim the last few days! But had a few warm sessions lately.
Havn't worn a hood the last 5 or so surfs, will do if the weather continues like this.

Where are you from Bromley? Cornwall has got to be warmer than there, surely?

Yeah exactly. Compared to what our brethren up in the N.East/Scotland have to contend with, it's not bad at all.

I think your 3/2mm can stay at home though. :-)

Are you insane!!! Remember having a surf the early April one year, no hood etc but had the most painful icecream headache ever on the 1st duck dive. Cant ever remember having one as bad before or since, it was debilitating!!

went in last week on the s.coast and wading in could feel the cold of the water through my suit. not seepage, just pure cold. its 'kin freezing and all the rain from last spring on, plus this ongoing cold air, will do nothing to help bring the water temp up. then factor in its a super early easter weekend, its going to be a freezing easter for sure.

still expect to see tourists letting their kids go in in cossies though if we do get a sunny day, and of course there is always the odd idiot you will see attempting to surf in a shortie. the silly season cometh!

I was in a few weeks ago, air temp about -2, full xcel winter suit (although about 5 years old now so a bit leaky), hood up, boots and gloves etc and it was just freezing. Been in about half and hour thinking I'm going to have to get out when this old guy (60's) turns up, gets his speedos on and went for a swim. He stayed in about half an hour and made me feel a right wuss

He's actually only 30, but that cold water takes its toll!

I'd bring 'em if you've got them. Reckon you'd struggle without boots... Hood you should be alright without.

Bromley, you're going to Newquay, I wouldn't sweat about it. You can't move for board rental etc places down there.

I've always found the prices there quite reasonable compared to elsewhere,(perhaps because there is so much competition?!) especially if you rent for e.g. a week, and I've never had a problem with any place I rented from.

Hope you enjoy you're trip!
