Wax Temperature

Postby HD7 » Thu Apr 04, 2013 9:36 pm

Just bought a board and need to strip of the wax and put on some new stuff.

What temperature should I get? As cool says 13 degrees and above, but water temp is knocking around 9 at the mo. What should I go for, seeing summer is on its way?

My summer wax setup is cool water on the bottom and warm on the top. Some people will put warm on both sides but because the bottom of the board is a bit colder from being more in the water and not facing the sun I find the cool works better underneath.

Always best to try both to see what works for you though.

^^ Really? That's interesting! I tend to go for tropical on the bottom, and cool on top in summer.

This time of year though, I got for a layer of cold followed by a layer of warm on the deck, and a layer of tropical followed by a layer of cold on the bottom.

Dream cream top and bottom. Heat the bar in the mircowave first, goes on sweet.
