Gulfstream I reckon make some of the best looking boards - the colours/finish always looks pretty amazing...very classic yet modern...if ya know what I mean.

Ooops sorry. On second inspection that does appear to be a surfboard and not a blonde chick licking her nipple.

It's Sam at C2C surf. I checked first that this wasn't for "good surfers" only...cos that would rule me out  . Anyone with a longboard welcome...catergories include longest ride, tricks, biggest wave (not going to be big!) so that gives you an idea. £5 entry fee goes to Scottish Surfing Fed. Prizes on the day.

Here' s blurb from his site.

Scottish Lowland Longboard contest and Grom Search –
The competition is on!!

Check in will be Saturday at 10.30am linkfield car park (middle car park for Belhaven http://www.c2csurfschool.com/location for full directions). Surf forecast has improved with 2-3ft long period swell and offshore winds which should see competitive conditions for the adults longboarding and junior (any board) event. Sunday now also looks decent as a back up. Cost will be £5 for adults and £3 for kids to enter with all proceeds going to the Scottish Surfing Federation.

Give it a go....not my thing either but could be a bit of fun....good in supporting Sam on the longboarding scene too. And of course, it allows me to tell my kid that I was a competitive surfer in my day :-) I'll be the one doing the Alex Knost stand up epileptic moves - but not on purpose.

Ooh la f*@*king la - excuse my french... Amazing looking board.. I've lusted after those for a while now but only ever seen them in tiny dims... Looks fantastic. Velosim type ride with a bit more hold? I saw some go pro footage of one being ridden at trestles (by the guy that owns new evolution in japan..) You can really get a sense of the ride quality.. Very Jealous. Would love to read a ride report (although the shit and the slippery stick analogy conjures up something  ) Great score!

Full report when I've ridden it more. First two sessions in tiny junk man it's so laterally fast and up and planing early with a good squirt out of the bottom turn. Cutbacks need a little finesse but like they are on rails with ur weight in the right place!!

Hey Jory... Sorry missed your last post... I've just checked on youtube.. type; 'Sep. 17 Lower - Trestles' into the search bar. There two clips the 35 second clip is the one i'm talking about... the 20 second one is a very funny of a guy on a knee board taking off and zipping through the line up. Sorry for the lack of link I'm a post 40yr old techo phobe.

Board sounds and looks fantastic !

Cheers. Ears :D

What a nice little board!

I've always wondered what those big based keels would ride like in a quad set-up.

Will have to swing by and take a looksy (once my man-flu has dissipated!)

Glad you found the clip.. Every time i see a picture of the board I immediately think of that clip. Looks a really nice shape although requiring a little more pilot imput than the wider tailed variants?

Amazing glass/resin job as well... Yep.. Very jealous. :-)

well these are only first impressions from a couple of hours in the water.

first session was lined up but crumbly onshore saunton waist high at best, only took it out cos i'd just got it otherwise it was really log size.. amazingly it paddled into even thigh high waves and got planing early with a nice squirt out of the bottom turn. it feels light with the scooped out deck and good to paddle. the concave deck feels normal on your feet. i had a few waves racing down the line before the close out and i was impressed with the lateral speed it generated even in such slack tiny waves.

It felt slightly sticky off the top but the waves were tiny so no real chance to properly assess.

second session was in proper onshore chest high windy swell. Quite a challenge to find the peeling face. It went really well again, paddling in early (with all the wideness forward) and coped with late drops easily. The narrowness in the tail helped bank it over n the more critical bottom turns compared to the wider tailed simmons and it felt more in control then, it's not skatey at all, it feels like it's running on positive smooth rails if that makes sense.

cutting back, you need to get low and get your weight engaged over the rail, then it runs through the turn without sliding or losing speed.

that video shows it off well, just smooth gliding speed generation without any sliding around

Thanks for the ride report... Sounds great. I have an andreini bullet quad and the ride sounds very similar (albeit less of a hulled entry on the andreini and spiral vee through the tail) if thats the case i'd imagine it will absolutely light up on a hollow wave.. Cheers - :-)

actually the hulled entry is pretty subtle and it has a slight single concave starting pretty early before becoming a deep single through the fins

Liking this one loads and only had it out today for the first time...Fluid Juice 9ft 6 semi pig. 23.5 wide (6 inches back from mid point) X 3 thick. Nose 16.5 and tail 16 1/4. Rolled bottom all the way with subtle concave in the nose, 50/50 rails and soft diamond tail. For a big board it is way more easy to move around than my smaller longboard....think the old skool knew what they were doing!
