Chewbecca - It was very well padded, but not nearly as well as your board was!
Must have taken a lot of force to break it that badly (it's a semi egg, 6'6", red fading into yellow with pretty flowers on it!)

We got it repaired (that pic is just outside Buntys) for Â£40 and got full compensation but it's still a shame as it's a lovely board (wife had it made for her with advice from a designer friend of hers on the graphics!).

Yeah you've got to wonder haven't you? That's either had something very heavy on the end or been dropped.

The baggage handlers at Gatwick laughed at me when I waved goodbye to my board as it went through...

cool! just general curiosity as i was given it so wondering what history of co. is:-
old 6'6" mad dog, mark plater shaped board ( no.3016), think its an oz board and has 3 moulded in fins, a few dings but fixable and rideable and he said to have it and use it especially if im worried about breaking my board somewhere.
its 19" by 2 1/2" on the other dimensions

By this I am guessing that you mean "fixed" as oposed to removable such as FCS, swivel etc.

searching mad dog site brings up no mention of mark plater....must have sacked him ( though he did 3000+ boards!)..instead of ugly lets call it very 80's ??
thanks for finding the site! i love my retro feel, (it only last 1/2 hr or so b4 getting bit waterlogged..not sure if its worth the cost of bringin back to life

well found mate! they've got him at Mad Dog from 1978!!! they don't say when he stopped..I'm guessing the boards mid 80's ?? if its on 3000 could he do 300 a year?? or is it more likely early 90's?

Asking the wrong person, although consider the 3000, taking out weekends, holidays etc. You would need a full team such as dedicated prelim shappers, glassers, sanders etc. working round the clock... consequently believe the number is high for a 10 years period but not imposible if hes working on say 5+ boards at once. But this alone doesn't meen it is a board from the 90's... looking at the paint job I would guess late 80's but this is a guess, you would need to ask someone that knows alot more than I do...
