Wirral Surf Spot

Postby 4evalandlocked » Wed May 31, 2017 11:34 am

A few months ago I found myself stood at Hoylake looking out towards Ireland and questioning whether there are any conditions in which the Wirral gets a wave. I do not expect there to be anything half decent, but surely on a rare occasion when everything lines up there must be a spot along the coast which produces something that doesn't require a kite or paddle to ride? The only waves I've ever seen have been in a howling onshore mess.

The question has been asked before some years ago:

Since then, this video has appeared:

Which looks like a fun little wave for an SUP.

I'm wondering if anyone has encountered something resembling a natural wave since? I'm sure even if such a spot exists, it would make more sense to drive to north wales, but it would be pretty cool cruising towards the Wirral shores on a log.
