Looks likely that the remnants of Hanna(plus a little bit of left over Gustav as well) will give us a swell. If she can stay over water then we might get a deeper low than the charts are currently showing. Still she's not looking that shabby on this mornings ECMWF and that has her over land for a while:

Lets just hope local winds don't ruin it. They look like they might well be okay at the moment but you never know.

Time to score the surf from Hanna. I'll give it a 52. Onshore winds ment the best I got from It was a fun overhead lumpy one down at Praa sands.

Feel free to submit your own scores.

It was a perfect little swell!
Punchy, glassy -clean fun waves round this way. Only probs is it was a bit short lived.
Score it very high!

well you'll have plenty of time to recover if the long term cahrts hold true :cry:

Like NDL i'd score this swell pretty high, even though i was lazy and couldnt be bothered to go to the north coast I got some mega fun waves, but scoring a swell is so subjective i think, I lucked into a couple of pulses at the right stage of tide on a good bank which made it good, if i'd missed them i'd have been slating it i reckon.

The Hanna swell was Thurs/Fri/Sat. The good Surf we had Sun/Mon was from a normal low that came in behind (oh err..).

Yeah, thought Hanna was thurs-sat. Sun/mon was waaaay better. Sunday spanked it so hard tues felt sore.
Only surfed the Fri/Sat. But I'm guessing Thurs was a shelter day, Fri winds a bit too on it to make it score amazing, sat dropped off loads.

Swell size .... 75
Lulls .... 60
Wind .... 48
Duration .... 76
Weather .... 45

Av = 60

But seeing as it's my hurricane I think I'll up that to 98 in a feeble attempt to win the sweepstake :roll:
