Surf vehicle- Berlingo?

Postby gwaysurf » Wed Dec 05, 2012 11:17 pm

I will be getting a license soon and i noticed citroen berlingos are cheap enough for a van and i doubt insurance on them would be too bad,
would they be a half decent surf van considering they're quite small and i'd try fit something to sleep on in the back (boards could go under
this?- all are short boards) or am i being a tad thick?
cheers

My old man has one and loves it to bits. Reliable, cheap to run and bags of room and weird pockets everywhere inside! I've seen a few pop top conversions on em too if you're serious about sleeping in it!

Get one with the single back door that lifts up so you can change in shelter from the weather. These small vans or car versions (I now have a Kangoo) are so useful for surfing, if a little cheapo. I'm a convert!

Great surf vehicles.... Just about to sell ours due to a camper purchase;

2002 silver 2 litre HDi, 116k miles, MOT due Dec. 2014. 6 Months Tax. FSH. 40+mpg. Back seats fold forwards, so you can fit 2xMTB's in there.
Also had a 9'10" log in there. 1 previous owner (motability). A super reliable vehicle. Had 5 trips down to the Algarve in it, and it's never missed a beat.
Reluctant sale. £1,600 O.N.O. In Cornwall. NOW SOLD.

definetly! I had an old berlingo and can get a 9'4 log in it with the front seat down, perfect fit! also managed to squeeze a little bed in it and lived in it for 3 months on a surf trip, also runs like a dream!
