Wind in Uk

Hoping for a little help- not been surfing long and I surf mainly around the usual Devon beaches.

Looking at forecasts on MSW I have been up until now looking at star rating but now I know a bit more I do realise this isn't always accurate- I was wondering if people might be able to help me interpret wind a little and it's effect.

E.g. Bantham- 12 sec 6.5ft swell- 10mph SW wind.

The grade is 4 'greyed' out stars - I assume if no wind this would be 4 dark blue stars- but the wind is only 10mph so even tho it is onshore will this stills be decent enough to surf?

How much wind do I need to start worrying it will affect the surf majorly to the point it will be mushy? Ie when can I ignore stars? Don't want to waste a trip I can't go that often!
