Edge is like a zetec but with a lil spoiler!

Had this since new in 2004, (53 plate) transferred to wife in the last two years when I got a touran for more space

116,000 miles I think last time I noted.

Mainly ford serviced/repairs in first half of life and then local garage in second half

MOT until this october and recent services. Ford garage did the last one as we had something repaired which local couldn't source, dunno what as I'm no petrol head, but it was a bearing or something. Timer belts all changed on schedule about 20,000 miles ago.

It still drives like new. Recent battery, recent drive shaft bearings/nuts whatever that means, aux sockets by steering wheel and in back.

Things to note:

electric fob no longer works so manual entry tho' central locking still works. doesn't seem to be due to failed battery but you never know.

front light has silicon beading on one side where pigeon decided to commit suicide on the M5 about 7 years ago - thats how long the seal has been on and is fine.

Available about 9/2/13 roughly when wife gets delivery of a work car.

Will be advertising in Feb for £1250 so chucked on here first

i got 60mpg and and 100 mph out of my 2001 model

i highly recomend these cars
big boot ,seats fold down for a good comfy kip too.

mine never ever let me down.

Hiya mate, might be interested but have a few Qs... Is it a 3 or 5 door? what colour is it? All standard? Full service history? How much Tax left on it and how much is the tax?

It's a silver one, 5 door hatch not estate. I've slept in it either with the back seats down or the drivers seat put down. Quite good for sleeping as the seats are quite low compared to my newer touran (can only sleep in the back with that one).

Taxed until end of June and was £75 for 6 months.

It's all stamped up until recent years when we went to a local garage owned by stepkid's relative (went with ford in the early years cos of warranty requirements). As I say the last time it was in was to the local Ford garage (just checked the receipt, there are years of receipts with the manual) when the starter motor was replaced and a leak repaired and sealed (was getting into the starter motor and car was taking ages to turn over in Summer but since has started purrfectly first time every time even in the winter weather). So that was the last repair and Ford also did the MOT. The local garage referred to couldn't work out the starter problem but but a new battery in it in any event.

Why do you prefer the old shape Fuckus Dixie? asking cos it would be first choice for my next set of wheels.

i had 2 old shape estates......bombproof
good alternator rep.
cheaper clutch units ( 350 as opposed to 1100 quid to replace)
roomier boot space
pedals are too close together in the newer ones

i had a new one on loan mine was .. in or mot. way to sporty cramped style.

make sure you check under the doors.....the seams o actual doors are prone to go south

the headllight seals go almost instantly,,mine did,,i did nothing to mine or 3yrs and it was ine (seal less)
great cars...but ugly

hood arrived ages ago....i sat in the lounge with it on just to bug the mrs
