The Great British indirect Board-Give Away

Postby finlay » Thu Dec 15, 2011 10:12 pm

Title edited

Anyway it's nearly christmas.

I have a couple of boards gathering dust which I would prefer shifted before moving in the new year. One is a 9'6' self shaped log the other a 6'10'' Nigel semmens 1990s semigun - both need a little TLC but are easily in surfable condition. Located just inland from Perranporth.

I would like to give them away with a slight condition attached. Any person who receives a board would give one of their own to a more worthy recipient, and ensures their recipient gives a board of theirs... somewhere along the line we'll get more boards back in the water, and whoever is at the end of the chain gets a free board (hopefully deservedly too).

Anyway - if you want either board post a reply stating what you've got to offer the next chap and meet me between now and this time next week to collect.

Let the claiming begin.

Sorry ATT .. - part of the reason I'm looking to part with the boards is so I don't need to trek back to Scotland with them on the roof.

Mal - you're welcome to the log, my van is off the road though so I've not got any way of transporting it, let me know by PM if or when you're likely to be up this way (tr4 9jn) before fri 23rd?

To anyone else humming and hawwing over the 6'10'' - I added a centre box and sidebites for a little bit of 2+1/widowmaker style action and it carves a treat (Fins not included unfortunately as I've only got that set). Goes well as a singlefin as well. Surfed it in a few decent sized reefs on the west of lewis then down here when it was big in the summer and autumn. Don't think there will be much scope for using it on the channel coast though so I need it gone

I'll take the Nigel Semmons 6ft 10" and can come to collect it tomorrow night. I only live in St Newlyn East.
In return I have a self shaped 6ft 8" single fin with bonzer runners and a green resin tint.

Just swopped a board with Liam off here having arranged over the last week or so. His 6'3 Russ Short MC Bonzer for my 7' Empire Bonzer. We're both well happy. Also passed an old battered 7' Tsunami single fin for nowt to a colleague who wants to start. That had been run over (repaired), dinged and abused but still can do the goods for a beginner on. All good, as are the other posts.

Good news Sparky - hopefully catch you tomorrow. This thing seems to be gaining a little in momentum. Someone should take that 6'7'' and cross their fingers for another run of swell+offshores in the new year.

Hi Sparky,

I'll take this if that's ok - if you can pm me your details that'd be great...

I'l pass on my 6'10" beach beat fat boy flyer and an old 6'6" JP if anyones interested. They're both fairly well used (ok, knackered) but will do a job for someone. We're moving to Wadebridge area as of next Thursday...

Good idea. Had trouble shifting my old shortboard. Giving it to a mate in cornwall next time im down that way. Its now not for sale. What goes around, comes around and that. Ideal!

Straighthander, that beachbeat flyer would be perfect for what im after! Will donate £20 to SAS and im giving my 6'1'' thruster ive been trying to sell to a mate down in cornwall.

this is a great thing happening.
wish i could join in -6'7 would be nice for El Palmar drops (where i'm moving to in Jan) and fun to draw all over. unfortunately the ryanair sting would be too great as i'm already taking one board back. :-(
keep it going, as i think fleetwood mac say "you would never break the chain...."
