Good TV or Jumped the Shark.........??

Postby Philshoz » Wed Dec 26, 2012 2:17 pm

Meant to start this thread a few days ago with the run up to Crimble.

As an old biased git I feel some(a lot) of TV has had its day and this is a place to tell us what you think.

X Factor....every pre performance has enough flashing and noise to set off an epi.....
Celebrity anything but mainly the shite in the jungle.
Big Brother, double shite for wannabee future celebrities....
Dancing on Ice.
Britains got Talent....................allegedly.

On the plus side:

Homeland.......but better improve for season 3.
The Killing.
Inspector Montelbano.
Spiral (Engrenages)
Basically anything where you spend two hours reading subtitles...... :? :?
Frasier.
An unridden wave has gone forever...............

I gave up on homeland after episode 2 of season 2, far to convoluted and unlikely, I can see why some would like it though, it was well made and the firest season was pretty gripping.

Must don't get tv or film. It's all pretty shit. I don't really get into or enjoy anything except a bit of match of the day and good comedy

Am I weird??

Weird from a mainstream perspective maybe, but I'd see that as a healthy thing. The dumbing down of T.V. content continues day by day, with a few exceptions. It's all just the same shit dressed up different ways. Social conditioning, and something to fill the gaps between adverts. Charlie Brooker hits the spot.

Agreed WP, wayyyyyyy too many ads. Even the Beeb spends a few minutes self promoting in between programes...

Best way is to record everything then skip through.

Case in point, last night, Midsummer Murders, ads every F****ing 10 mins nearly.
