I been looking at a kite in Argos, its a monster kite for about a tenner. My boy loves flying his old stunt kite but was thinking about picking up this as it is a bit like boom type kites you see everyone jumping around with on the beach.
For a tenner I guess if it turns out to be crap then I aint lost anything.

Decathlon sell some good value kites. I got a wing 165 stunt kite and it is pretty stable but still manouverable, and bomb proof; survived countless crashes. A mate got the Wing 185, but it didn't seem to fit together very well. Get one of the packets of replacement bits too, as they can go missing after a hard crash.

Their website is generally shit. Lots of things in stores not on there, and vice versa. I bought mine about 10 years agon, so it may have had a rebranding since then.

https://sites.google.com/site/kitejan/m ... n-wing-165

is the one i have.

this looks like the latest equivalent.

http://www.decathlon.co.uk/rclic-180-ta ... 03855.html

although the bits that go to the middle of the wings come out from the middle point, whereas mine come out from halfway along the horizontal poles (if that makes sense!) No idea if this makes it better or not.

Go have a look next time you are near Glasvegas.

I would get one out in the shop and put it together before you buy it if they will let you. Or build it in the car before you go home, to make sure it all fits together OK.

Specialist shops - expect to pay double for similar, but less bomb proof. If the kids are trying to learn get a decathlon one. I've taught countless people using mine, a lot of whom didn't have a clue what to do!

oh snap! Today I had a random thought of getting a power kite for windy days in the southeast.

Then this evening I went to a friend's house to help out moving their stuff to a new home. He found a power kite deep down in his shed. I told him I was looking at kites online.

"Do you want it?" OH YES PLEASE.

I have no idea how kites work, let alone setting it up with all those lines...

Today must be big windsday.

Good luck finding a kite for your little ones!

So last night, I got so excited with my new toy I took the kite out of the bag and laid it out in the communal garden. MASSIVE.

But smelt really bad of an old shed so I decided to...

rinse...

the lines...
