"associated" not causal so changing from one to the other is likely pointless.

Low fat, full fat, some would argue that consuming cows milk in any form is pointless...

Date for next year is 7th April. No doubt a little bigger also!

what an apt description, hav'nt heard that for years, back to topic..........and after a pleasant surf this morning went into the local Coffee Club for my usual 'short black'
on the next table was a clinically obese couple (male and female) he had the biggest tits i've seen, and a comment from the clip immediately came to mind,
'Milk is only for lactating females'
and then the waiter delivered their super sized Mocha's

You know that was a joke right?

I do stop eating altogether from time to time actually, it's very therapeutic.

The theory is that fasting allows your body to focus more of it's energy on healing as less is spent on digestion, and you return to homeostasis.

If that was a serious question. Whatever keeps this up top and getting more people thinking about plant based diets is good with me though.

evidence for such a claim ?

"healing" what exactly ? what do you mean by homeostasis ?

if you deprive the cells of your body of nutrients, then they increase autophagy, which is were they start breaking themselves down in order to fuel themselves. you dont shift your body into some magical healing mode, you increase the stress on your body further. if you are injured in some respect (physically) then the path to healing is to be in a calorie excess

The proof of the pudding is in the eating (or not, as the case may be). Try it and see. Or not. It's your life!

If you are interested then try it. If not, then don't. I have fasted for short periods on many occasions, and believe it to be of worth enough to do it from time to time. If you eat well your body stores enough nutrients to have a break from food for a while with no ill effects. You may actually feel better. Or you may not. Only one way to find out. Like Danny said, "well known and used for 1000s years"... just not by you or your Lecturers!

Why not try an internet search if you need more info? :D

I've been playing devils advocate somewhat. :-)
I don't fast but usually don't eat breakfast and miss meals fairly frequently as my guts don't work very well and it makes me feel better!
Mosely's stuff is always down to earth and I enjoy his programs.

Hi Vince. I have a vague memory of you mentioning doing some kind of degree in science a few years back, so I was referencing that. Is that right? As in you would have had lecturers who taught you, and that's where you got most of your scientific training?

If I'm wrong about that, then 'my bad'. No harm meant either way.
