mp3, ipod, dap, that sort of thing thread

Postby swordie » Wed Oct 27, 2004 3:41 pm

Since my trusty diskman cd player is looking less reliable by the day, I'm soon going to have to upgrade to another one, or to an iPod type of thing.... so I'm about to step into the murky waters of the whole dap/ipod market.

Now since I also use a digicam [leica/panasonic FZ2 if you really wanna know] I would like one that will accept all those lovely surf shots [read holiday snaps] into said machine, as a storage device. I can't really see myself going away with my whole cd collection, just the ones I'm into at the moment.

So.......... any recommendations?

i cant recoomend the i-pod enough, it is a must if u want high music quality, and a lot of storage. If u cannot afford one i would also recommend the iriver models from

Nice camera Swordie, we got the FZ1 about 18 months ago, and have never come across anyone else using one.... The picture on your blog with the Rhiannon at the helm is a cracker! :D

Have you had the v2 update [uk/eorope spec] or is it the original US spec [earliest mods] You can upgrade - contact me for details.

I agree it's a brilliant little camera for the price, and the general consencus ofer at DP review and steves digicam is that it knocks spots off a] the competition b] the other FZ's ..whith due regard to its MP size of course. A case of getting something almost right first time?

The photograph of Hells mouth [earlier in the blog] was taken the day I got the camera, at max range and about 1km away. the Scillies photos on this site were also taken with it. Very little post production PS work.

whoops going all geeky again.

For anyone else out there, if you can get one [places in the US still do them mail order] it will be the best cheap p/s digicam you will ever buy. Trust me.
