Oh well at least I got some tiny waves tonight in Aberdeen, makes up for missing the free Roses gig

Where is Warrington? Would it have been do-able from Aberdeen when I heard about the gig at 4pm?

Last Thursday I was mostly listening to Big Daddy Kane supporting the fucking massive legend that is Biz Markie in Manchester...

Kane hopped off stage, gave a hi five to the front row, including yours truly, then walked into the middle of the dance floor and kept the show flowing... Fucking legend.

Biz was mad, pure humour. Then the two of them on stage for a freestyle finale.

I've got some pics on my phone I'll put up and a couple of vids, all on my noseybook anyway.

Top night.

Yep, he gave us a verse of it to close the set out. I think he was struggling to be honest. Still, an absolute legend. Him and Kane on stage to me is like seeing Sinatra and Elvis together I guess. Momentous.

Paul Carrack on BBC4. Seems a pretty talented all round muso.

First time I've ever heard of the bugger   ..... I must have had my head up my own arse for years.

You heard of Squeeze surely? He did lead vocal most of the time, especially on Tempted(one of my all time top ten songs)

Been listening to Metallic Spheres by the Orb and David Gimour. Very indulgent and proggy but I love it

My Squeeze "collection" consists of a Greatest Hits compilation from the early 90's. - long since digitised via Audacity with the vinyl gifted to the local Cats Protection thrift shop (by Mrs UD :-) )
I don't think it had any sleeve notes, but if it did, I never bothered to read them. Until last night I always thought of Squeeze as Tillbrook/Difford with a sprinkling of early Jules Holland.

As I said above, "must have had my head up my own arse" :-(

Re Orb/Gilmore

"indulgent and proggy" right up my street - so...... Google > You Tube (smalll snippet) > Play dot com > Ordered.

I fucking love random introductions to new (to me) music. :-D :-D :-D :-D

Thanx
