What is your ride to the beach at present?
What would you like it to be (realistic and money no object)?

Current- Fiat Bravo JTD (yes its italian but it does 58mpg)
Realistic - VW Transporter tdi
Money no object - Wouldnt need one as I would be living on the beach at malibu!

Does anyone watch Pimp My Ride? They did a fantastic job on some surf dude's VW the other day. The guy had basically gutted the thing ready to do it up but had no money left. The did a classic VW paint job on it with chrome VW badge etc, put a sofa type thing in the back, a dryer for his towels, etc, a coast guard radio thing to be able to get up to date forecasts, a 40" tv for some crazy reason, an automated roof rack that lowered off the side to put the board on and best of all, a padel that popped out of the side that said "chill" on it. PIMPED.

Current: Well hammered Astra estate, can get a 9'2" inside, can load the b*gger up with loads of bikes/boards/camping gear mates/family.
Ideal: Properly kitted out Transit, like I used to have :cry:

Money no object: Live next to the beach + cruise down on an Independent Fabrications Titanium singlespeed, with board trailer.

current Vauxhall astra van....in white well i might look like a kiddie fiddler with a matress in the back but its quick and economical.

Ideal....A mercedes Vito maybe all kitted out.. or lets be honest one of those hoofing big american things which do 3mpg and have a shower, 3 bedrooms, and room for a bevvy of bronzed lovelies to rub me down after a surf. Converted to run on goatboaters of course.

current rover convertible - bought in a moment of madness as my 76 cavalier was doing 18 mpg (rwd, bright orange, chrome rostyles with a black vinyl roof - affectionaltely known as the pimpmobile)

ideal - volvo 940 td estate

money no object - yellow mk1 rs2000 (a proper avo one) with orange stripes, quad cibies (forest stylee) lowered 2" with a full bose concert system. and a roof rack :lol:

Current: a yellow bus. no really... being a poor student means having no wheels of my own which on the rare occasions bournemouth's working i have to pray for friendly bus drivers to whisk myself and my board to my chosen destination. If that fails i ask my housemates very nicely, or i walk the hour to the beach :wink:

Ideal: Anything other than public transport :lol:

Money no object: Have to be a kitted out transit.

realistic: er, I quite like my car, but I think I *might* get a slightly bigger one when I move to NZ in April. Probably not though.
