So (for ATTMFnmNf) being involved in an Olympic sport now we need to engage in the current events....

Adam Peaty new world record - eat that competition!

Peaty is a fucking machine. Men's and Women's Roadbikes great to watch. Even the kids got excited.

Hard to post up every single female beach volleyball player!

She got off fairly lightly!

Did she stack at exactly the same spot as Geraint Thomas? Looked like it.

Nah, can't stand her. Spoils the commentary for me. Had to google the name I'm blanking her that much.

That crash - good for Boardman for speaking out about safety and how difficult it was to carry on with commentary not knowing if she was ok.

David Florence cocked it up in C1 again. In spite of our sponsorship he still fails to deliver.

Olympics.....yaaaawn!

I'm nonplussed by it this year. Not watched a second of it yet. I'm not sure why. ...... Doping allegations, corruption allegations, destroying poor peoples homes to build stadiums, zika virus, shitty water blah blah blah. It just seems yet another example of how fucked the world is and I guess that turns me off.

......Until it gets to the 100m and the track events maybe!

It always makes me laugh how when a Brit gets 3rd, they celebrate waaaaaay more than the ones who win. Makes me think of the school awards when every kid gets a medal....

For me the Olympics is THE sporting event, second to none. Of course there are issues just because its a major event and there is a lot of money at stake. I would prefer it to be more amateur, not keen on watching the same pro players you see at every contest etc. which will be the same for surfing too unless they stick it in a wave pool.
I would shout from the tree tops if I won a bronze medal, seriously!

This. I prefer the winter olympics to summer, but still watch the summer avidly. Yes there is always some controversy, but put that aside and just watch it for the sheer spectacle of athletes performing at their peak. And just don't watch the things you don't like, enough other things to choose from. And fuck it why not celebrate bronze?? I'd love to be the third best at anything in the world!

Give it to me over any football tournament and the associated controversies any day.

It's the fact that they celebrate so much. Don't get me wrong, it's a helluva achievement, but also makes me wonder if that's the reason we fail to compete at so many sports, despite being one of the richest, most sporting developed countries in the world. Lack of confidence, belief, ambition etc. British sports people always seem a bit shocked when they win, where as some countries athletes just expect it....

Also, the Chinese synchro diving was something to behold. How many hours of training went into that?!

Greg Rutherford must be a man after your heart - burst into tears after "only" getting bronze!

BMXers are bonkers! Guy carrying his bike to the finish with a snapped fork amused me.

Anyone else keep checking out the waves at Copacabana Beach every time they present from the studio?

Yeah some big closeouts!

And in case anyone missed this!
Washington Post:

"There is a special category of obnoxious American 'bro' that Lochte represents, in his T-shirt and jeans and expensive suede footwear, which he showed off on Instagram that night at the party along with the price tag. 'We're 6k deep here,' he captioned it. Is there anything worse, in any country, than a bunch of entitled young drunks who break the furniture and pee on a wall?"

Sounds like the Brazilian side of the story was embellished a little bit too.
