Assistance with buying new board

Postby iopboy » Thu Sep 06, 2012 1:02 am

Looked on craigslist and found a board or two which seemed to fit my price range and quality standard. I wanted some advice when it came to the 6ft Webber "The One". Here is the biased review from a dealer and wanted to hear the truth from from the people.

this could be the right board - I'd say it just depends on your weight and paddle power. I'm 5'11, 80kgs and intermediate+ I'd say and just bought the 6'2. obvioulsy most of the waves we ever get are waist to head high but I'm hoping not to feel like I need a different board when it gets overhead.

i spent a bit of time researching loads of options before I got it. I surf a 6'8 aloha quikshift which has been awesome for me over the past 2 years, but hoping the squash on this might help with better topturns. that's the hope anyway - now need some waves. I had it out in fair sized swell last weekend but it was very lumpy/onshore and whilst it paddled fine, it wasn't the greatest conditions for working out if it's going to help me do what I want yet. However I reckon the 6'2 was the right size for me and my current paddle fitness (good)

the only other thing i think is important - never had a webber before - but a few people have mentioned the special concave he puts on his boards. maybe it's a marmite thing but i've heard people get very enthused about the shape.

Hi did you buy this board?

Having just bought this one and ridden it just once, I've been enticed into another custom built board and have decided to let this one go. Ridden once, perfect condition, leash and grip pad. Cost me £475 with the pad, make me an offer.

not selling because anything wrong with board - just that I have bought another and there is a tremendous overlap so can't have both.
