hi there ,anyone out there got good info on mexico for me?,im goin in jan till end of march,flying into puerto vallarta and out of mex city,any dont miss or sik spots,can surf all waves except macking escondido,was gonna hire a car and go around p vallarta area,sayulita san blas etc,then head down to nexpa ,la ticla then down to escondido maybe at the end as nearish mexico city,not gonna have car whole time just a few weeks,want to camp at grounds a bit to keep costs down and with the misses,any advice and tips greatfully recieved,thankyou...............

mexico is awesome.check out pascuales.
i didn't like the area around puerto vallarta/sayulita...bit too touristy, pricey and surf wasn't that good (at the breaks i found)

where would you suggest to go?i heard pv is a big tourist hole,sayulita any better?or move down the coast?what kind of accomodation did you stay,?cheers fella

fly to PV,
get bus to Tecoman, get smaller bus to Pascuales. take a tent, or find a cheap room. Set alarm at 7am, have a coffee. 7.30 go get barrelled. 11.30am go have breakfast, then get in a hammock and relax while the onshores kick in.

Spent 2 months around Escondido had waves EVERY day. Don't think you need to camp as acomodation is dirt cheap. We stayed at a place called 'Buena Onda' at La Punta, which is loads more chilled than Zicatela, and paid about £3 a night to stay right on the beach with a VERY fun left hand point right out front.. 20 min walk up the beach and you get to the main break... If you want to go feral you can rent a hammock on the beach for about 50p a night and the guest house will look after your stuff..... These are prices from about 8 years ago but I can't imagine they have changed too much.

thanks for that info guys,yeah heard the point at escondido gets real busy,im toying with sending my boards to somewhere near vallarta and pickin them up,phoned ups ,they dont do it,gotta be somewhere to trust or will i find two boards over there easy enough?any ideas?

i flew air alaska and no problems. they're used to dealing with boards coming thru pv i reckon

yeah its going to cost me 300 bucks minimum to get my boards there,im goin via canada first...

I used to live about 40 miles down the coast from Escondido and there were plenty of boards for sale at Escondido and was pretty cheap from what i remember, this was in 2001 though
