Cheap lenses

I have read loads of forums and websites that all say you need the big expensive L lenses for surf photography from the beach. Unfortunately, as a teenager, I don't have anywhere near enough money to invest in these sorts of lenses (600mm F4, 100- 400mm F4.5 - 5.6, etc).

I am currently using a 55 - 250mm f4 - 5.6 but I am wanting to invest in a new, better lens. What would be the cheapest Canon lens that I could invest in that would give me much better results with a bigger focal length new or second hand.

I have the same lens. That combined with a program that allows for cropping and editing is my go to best bang for the buck. As far as cheap, check out the Sigma 150-500 otherwise known as the Bigma.
