I got in at pease this afternoon, it was small and lully, but really nicely lined up on the sets, fingers crossed for tomorrow too.

In other news it looks like I'm moving to Stromness in Orkney early summer, cannot wait to get exploring the isles.

Bang on, working with a tidal power company. Got in again at Pease this afternoon - it was dire when we arrived about 2.30 or so, but ended up about shoulder high, peaks all over and quite a few steep sections by dusk.

I am so full of stoke my mouth hurts from smiling. Just moved the family to the east lothian coastline - they are loving it and I am either surfing, golfing, out driving in the hills, or on my bike I bought on thursday. Gonna ride into N Berwick in the morning for a coke and a smile. Still working down south though so not all roses. Was working from home (pease) on friday Just logging on to make up the time.

Went in on Sunday- first time in the water since May, it was nice to get back in and although it was small it was clean and pealing on the cave a treat, got a couple of long ones to the beach, the technique was there but the arms were not.

Think stoke is maybe a bit much but had a good wee enjoyable SUP. BH bay looked quite pish when I turned up but started to produce a few small clean ones as the tide came in so had a good few mellow rides.

Got back yesterday from Lanzarote and Gran Canaria. Swell faded out for the last few days but wasn't too fussed as I had it pretty damn good. Highlight of the trip was a local fella telling me he really liked my style. 'Classic style, guapo' were his words. Compared me to Machado. I didn't know what to say, apart from 'thanks'. That will keep me stoked for ever I think. In my head I'm a kook on every wave I catch.

Vinny, couldn't leave the board in there in the end. Sorry fella, you're on your own there. Happy to give you the low down on the spots as much as I know though. So let me know if you do head that way.

Not looking forward to getting into my holey wetty with this cold snap in effect. Can see myself puking from brain freeze again. Is there an easy technique to throwing up while sitting on a surfboard?

Algarve water temp nice at beginning of week then strong offshores made it a bit cooler. was happy in a 3/2 then maybe wanted a 4/3 in the wind.
a good 3/2 will be fine, take boots and a twat cap for if it gets blowy

got back tuesday. missed the epic windy madness hitting algarve now. tbh it'd be too offshore too windy to be really good

Had a crap session today, lumpy and horrid. Stoked due to sharing waves with a seal. Seems I've discovered a surfing seal, saw it last week thinking it was a one-off type thing but it was surfing again today & didn't appreciate me being there - damn localism!

off there just after next weekend, looks a bit of a mad forecast at the mo, looks like I'll be able to stroll to the village break I hope. Did you get any further east of there?

nah we didn't in the end. looked at Porto mos one day but needs more swell than luz. we were lucky cos the first 5 days the swell direction was W not NW so it got in nicely to the reef.
just looked at the forecast. looks like with that direction you'll get nice waves at home. anything below 8ft@12/13 NW swell is small in luz. brancos had some good mid tide banks but is full of germans. finally surfed super low tide Zavial off the wall. thats worth a surf!

no banks at salema/cabanhas at the moment or boca. burgau on a big board maybe on the tuesday for a change once u get bored of the reef

Looks like the weather will significantly brighten tuesday on if the wettekarte model holds with the waves still coming from the low, Beliche or Arrifana point methinks

Awesome surf on the log this morning. Huge lull in between sets which was kinda annoying but when the sets came it was easily overhead which is very unusual for my local! Had to dive for the bottom on a couple of occasions while paddling out!

Was thinking of getting a short board but when it's like this a longboard feels amazing. Catch the wave super early, ride it until it closes out and repeat until your arms start falling off!

I fear I may be turning into a longboarder dammit.........

every piece of coast line where i am to day in eire is lite up like a chrismas tree, primary swell of 19ft @ 17 secs have photos only phone which arent great. the whole week is looking good.
