Was slightly stunned when i saw that photo.

Been there last year and i know how big that rock is on the right of the picture.

Great place to surf

It is by the far the biggest swell I have ever seen. I reckon the wave faces were 12-15ft range (although I hate rating waves in feet - its too tricky :oops: ) The cliffs in the background are about 100ft to give you some scale

The sound every time one landed was unbelievable, and from the beach you could feel the vibration through your feet. Quite remarkable

I checked this beach on three different days and never saw anybody out :lol: :lol: :lol:

nice....i must admit i couldnt make it out back at that spot on a 4/5ft day. It wasnt lined up like so, thats my excuse, it was a mare! Embarrassing paddling back in with tail between legs..no one else was out either like

Zavial must have been pumping tho ey? and that right hand point with the rock in the middle can't remembers its name..up the coast about 40 kms...little fishing village stuck into a hillside...

The two that say Carrapetteira BTW are actually Arrifana just up the coast near Aljazur - Nice 8) I got pounded by the surf here but it was good watching the locals rip after I scrambled back up the cliffs :oops:
