I want a Longboard copied.
Whats the opinion on JP or R.Cooper? Feedback much appreciated.
I think Ive heard RC is better at copying but JP will make a better board?

Why would you want a copy of a mass produced board?

Speak to your shaper, talk about your abilities and where you surf, and let them shape the right board for you.

FWIW I had a Cooper minimal for about 8 years. It was possibly slightly heavy, but excellent build quality and still going strong when i sold it.

I doubt a copy of a surftech in trad materials will produce a board with the same handling/feel.

They were mass produced but exact copies of original models by some great shapers, they were IMO great boards,

Forget trad materials,

I would go for John Purton, a friend had a Sup made, his fave short roundtail surfboard scaled up to a 7'4 x 31 in EPS epoxy, the finished board was really nice, superlight, and great finish, solid colour opaque.

The two Randy French longboards, one McTavish Razor with huge tail lift and the two Mcoys i had were all great boards, he will get the weight and planshape right just hope he can match the railshape and rocker.
